Our landmark for the British gangsta era dominated by the notorious Kray Twins and violent Richardson Gang. This was the scene of a murder committed by Reggie Kray – which due to their influence at the time, I believe he actually got away with. As is usual to places like this, it has become a bit of a pilgrimage spot for the those interest in the East End’s grisly past and is even a stop of on an East London gang land tour by Mad Franky Frasier himself, a former member of the Richardson Gang.
Despite it’s history though it has not cheapened itself by becoming a homage to crime and The Kray’s and is actually a pretty decent boozer despite being a bit run down. One of the more historically relevant pubs in London.
